Intellino Tech Sdn Bhd are revolutionising the way the hotels and hospitals manage their linen. COMMON PROBLEMS IN LINEN MANAGEMENT
Getting the right product, to the right place, at the right time, in the right quantity. Linen management duties include setting and adjusting par levels, conducting linen inventories, determining linen use policies, and providing linen awareness education to staff.
Hotel linen losses per year is within the range of 5-20%.
Reordering Replacements – Requires accurate data collection reports (i.e. of discarded linen) inclusive of ‘Who, What, Where, When, How’ in order to proceed with replacement orders.
Linen Inventory – Unable to provide accurate inventory count in a short period of time (monthly/ yearly) with minimum manpower.
Achieving KPIs – Difficulties in controlling linen cost leading to an increase in losses and manpower requirement.
Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) Levels – Insufficient PAR levels to run daily operations causes additional costs for express wash.
Budget Restraints – A huge challenge is requesting for budgets when it comes to linen replacements due to the temporary closure of the tourism industry.
Occupancy Rates – Unable to determine when the occupancy rates will start to pick up which affects order arrivals, as linen replacements take a minimum of 2 months to arrive.
Staff Turnover – Retrenchment of staff due to the pandemic results in a loss off linen data.
